Anne
Straker has asked me if I would furnish some details of
the Barn Dance held at the club last Saturday.Despite a
lot of effort by some of the social committee to get
people to support this event, only thirty-two attended.
There
were several men there (including the President) who
were there under sufferance but who were in for a
pleasant surprise.The caller was amusing and very good
at his job, within minutes he had everyone on the floor
doing a progressive dance, which broke the ice and from
then on it was one long laugh.
It was
unanimous that it had been one of the funniest and most
enjoyable nights at Glen for a long time. Our thanks go
to all who made the effort and especially to Anne
Straker for her organisation, £7.00 for a bite to eat
and night like that was the bargain of the year.
