Tips to avoid slow play on the Green
Place your clubs between the green and the next tee,
never in front of the green.
On the
putting green,
have the line you want to putt your ball on read before
it is your turn.
Study your putt while others are putting and continue
putting until holed out unless you are stepping on the
line of a colleague or an extension of it.
When on the green, putt out whenever possible instead of
marking the ball. The first person that putts out should
tend and replace the pin for other players.
Leave the green immediately after holing out and proceed
to the next tee. Do not complete your scorecard on or
near the green while the next group are waiting to play.
When the play of a hole has been completed, players
should immediately leave the putting green. You should
not mark your scorecard until you reach the next tee. If
you are the first to play, mark the card after you have
teed-off.
On
longer par-3 it’s often a good idea to stand back and
let the group behind play their tee shots. |
