The first of Glen
Gorse's formidable final three closing holes, and a firm
favourite of many players. The
tee shot calls for a draw from the right side of the
fairway as the hole shapes from right to left and the
ground falls the same way.
Trouble lurks on both
sides with a mature hedge running down the left and
trees alongside the right. The second shot has to
be played from a ridge and furrow lie to a naturally set
green tucked away in the left corner.
There are two
greenside bunkers and one short right to catch anything
that's under hit, whilst the green, surrounded by large
trees, is often bathed in dappled shadows.
Pro's Tip:
Favour the right side of the fairway as it slopes to the
left. The second shot should pitch on the green to
avoid the undulating approach. |
