The 17th is a long par 4 and requires a powerful
drive placed between the two tall trees visible on
either side of the fairway.
This will leave a long
iron or fairway wood to the green which is set some 40
yards beyond a right-hand side fairway bunker. The
large green is protected on the left by another greenside
trap. The bail
out shot is, therefore, long and right. However,
too long, and from here you may be stymied by the adjacent tall trees.
The par is demanding here and many players are happy to
settle for a bogey 5.
Pro's Tip:
Drive straight between the two big trees. A long
iron or wood is then needed to reach the green. If
in doubt, hit a wood! |
