" Sam is now a healthy 14 year old, but this was not so
when he was born.
After many hospital visits Sam was found to have a hole
in his heart that was stopping his development. Doctors
decided to give Sam open heart surgery to repair the
hole.
After the operation he had to be kept away from other
children for 3 months in case of infection. He had
regular check ups at the hospital, these check ups are
now less frequent and he now only has to go every 3
years.
The
only thing now that makes him any different from any
other boy of his age is that he has to have antibiotic
cover when he goes to the dentist or has any surgical
procedure, and it has made his upper body stiff.
With
the help of everyone at Glen Gorse his swing is getting
better, and his confidence as an individual has improved
greatly. Winning the Janet McKay trophy was above all
his expectations, thank you to all who have helped and
supported him."
