THE EQUALITY ACT 2010
The Equality Act received Royal Assent in April 2010
and the main provisions of the Act come into force
in October this year.
Council has recently set up a working party to
consider and implement the changes necessary for
compliance with this Act.
It is important that members be aware of the
constraints of the Equality Act and understand that
changes must take place, even if they are not
welcome.
Council is mindful that open and honest discussion
is important also and that innovative ideas may come
from within the membership.
