The new Festival
House was officially opened on Saturday for
Captain's Day and I would like to especially thank
the President and Geoff Aldwinckle (who was chairman
of Festival Committee for many years) who were both
instrumental in helping us obtain the new Festival
House together with everyone who has worked tireless
on behalf of GGGC on the Festival Committee over the
last few years.
The Festival
Committee do a sterling job and allow us to purchase
items for the club (with the funds they raise during
Festival week) that we would otherwise not be able
to purchase. The Festival House was paid for in its
entirety by the Festival Committee and not a penny
has been used from members' subscriptions. The
Festival House will be 'franchised out' which will
also give an additional valuable income to the club
as well as providing a superb facility for our
members.
